Zimbabwe National Army has abandoned news circulating that they would conduct house searches for stolen army uniforms.
ZNA spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Alphios Makotore yesterday said the ZNA never issued a statement to that effect.
That statement which is circulating is not genuine; it’s a misleading narrative. Anything which comes from the ZNA has a signature to confirm that it was issued by us but the statement circulating doesn’t have one
Whoever distributed that fake statement about the ZNA searching stolen uniforms in household areas is going to be arrested because it is an offence and possessing an army uniform is a crime as well
Lt Col Makotore warned the people circulating the fake statement saying they were misleading the public.
